| King Arthur Legends
While most
historians agree that the character of King Arthur is based at least
in part on an actual 6th century Briton military leader, the legend
of Arthur has taken on a life of its own, embellished over the centuries
with romantic and chivalric Medieval trappings, magic, and Holy Quests.
Here we present a collection of links to information about the characters
and events of this great tale, both historical and fictitious, and how
the tale has evolved through the ages, from the earliest pseudo-historical
references by St. Gildas, Nennius, and the Venerable Bede, to the romantic
epics by Geoffrey of Monmouth and Sir Thomas Mallory.
